Unilink Self Service
Empowering prisoners through digital self-service
Unilink’s Self-Service is a secure, multilingual digital solution that empowers people in custody to manage routine tasks independently while reducing staff administrative workload. It gives access to a wide range of services designed to promote positive daily engagement and activity, including educational content, eBooks, games, podcasts, videos, music, live radio, and TV, all of which support learning and mental wellbeing and help to alleviate boredom, thereby reducing tension. The interface helps individuals to build digital skills, manage their day-to-day activities, and take greater responsibility for their own choices.
Unilink Self-Service transforms custodial settings into digitally enabled, rehabilitative environments that promote digital literacy and responsibility, foster positive outcomes, and help prepare individuals for successful reintegration into society.

Independent research by Professor Cynthia McDougall OBE, University of York, highlights the potential of prisoner self-service to improve outcomes, enhance efficiency, and support rehabilitation. In a society where digital access is the norm, these tools help to bridge the gap between prison life and the outside world, helping to prepare them for a successful return to the community. Unilink self-service is a vital tool in engaging and motivating offenders, as well as preparing them for life after release.
