Unilink has launched a new paid graduate internship programme to attract and develop the next generation of AI talent, supporting responsible innovation in justice and rehabilitation technology.
The initiative will see five paid AI interns join Unilink on placements of three to six months, with a clear path to permanent roles for strong performers. The internships offer graduates practical experience in AI and data science while contributing directly to the company’s ongoing product development and applied research.
Interns will work across three key areas of applied AI development. The first focuses on LLM/NLP prototyping, covering tone detection, content moderation, summarisation and conversation analytics. A second area involves API integration, where interns will embed AI features into Unilink’s existing products and internal tools. The third centres on rapid experimentation, giving interns the opportunity to explore prompting, fine-tuning and retrieval workflows.
The programme provides competitive graduate pay, structured mentorship from Unilink’s AI engineering and product teams, and hands-on exposure to live product environments, where prototypes developed by interns can progress into production. Participants will also benefit from a training budget and access to curated learning resources, including LinkedIn Learning, to support ongoing professional development.
Dimitris Demiris from Unilink said: “This programme is designed to give graduates a meaningful introduction to AI engineering in a real-world environment. By working on practical projects with experienced mentors, interns gain valuable skills while contributing to responsible innovation across Unilink’s justice technology platforms.”
The internships form part of Unilink’s broader commitment to developing UK graduate talent and applying responsible AI within digital justice systems. The initiative combines technical training with real product outcomes, offering a structured route for graduates to progress into permanent roles as AI engineers or developers.
